Benefits of 222nm Far UVC
Enhanced Safety for Occupied Spaces
Far UVC 222nm light has limited penetration into human skin and eyes, making it safe for continuous use in occupied environments.
Superior Germicidal Efficacy
Effectively inactivates up to 99.9% of airborne and surface-borne pathogens, including SARS-CoV-2, influenza, and MRSA.
Chemical-Free Disinfection
Eliminates the need for chemical disinfectants, reducing costs by over 70% while providing a sustainable solution.
Energy-Efficient Operation
Consumes less power compared to other air-cleaning technologies while operating silently.
Whole-Room Disinfection
Provides comprehensive protection by disinfecting both air and surfaces throughout the entire space.
Real-Time Protection
Continuous operation ensures pathogens are neutralized immediately, reducing transmission risks.
Applications of 222nm Far UVC
Medical Institutions: 222nm far-ultraviolet disinfection technology can be used for disinfection in areas such as fever clinics, nucleic acid sampling rooms, examination rooms, CT rooms, and infusion rooms, effectively reducing the risk of cross-infection.
Public Places: 222nm far-ultraviolet disinfection technology can be used for disinfection in public places such as elevators, supermarkets, hotels, airports, and train stations, providing a safe public environment.
Home Care: 222nm far-ultraviolet disinfection technology can be used for disinfection of the home environment, such as the air and surfaces in bedrooms, living rooms, and kitchens, protecting the health of family members.
Cold Chain Logistics: 222nm far-ultraviolet disinfection technology can be used for disinfection of packages and food in cold chain logistics, preventing the spread of viruses through the cold chain.

222nm far-ultraviolet light uses direct irradiation to physically disinfect, destroying the RNA and DNA helical structures of viruses and bacteria in the environment, preventing pathogens from multiplying and thus achieving highly efficient disinfection. Its photon energy is as high as 5.58 eV to nearly 6 eV, capable of penetrating the viral outer shell (such as the spike protein of the novel coronavirus) and directly destroying the internal genetic material (RNA/DNA), but its penetration into human cells is extremely low.
Safety Protection
Skin Protection:
The outermost layer of human skin, the stratum corneum (dead skin), approximately 0.005 mm thick, completely blocks 222nm ultraviolet radiation, preventing it from penetrating to living cells. Experiments have shown that mice exposed to 222nm radiation for 8 hours daily showed no damage to their skin or eyes after six months.
Eye Protection:
The tear film layer on the outer layer of the cornea (approximately 1-2 micrometers thick) can block 222nm ultraviolet radiation, and the corneal epithelial cell metabolic cycle is only 1-2 days, resulting in extremely low long-term risk.
Regular Maintenance and Lamp Replacement
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Regularly clean the lamp surface to remove dust and dirt to maintain optimal sterilization performance. It is recommended to develop a regular cleaning schedule (e.g., weekly or monthly) based on usage frequency and environmental conditions.
Lamp Replacement:
The irradiance of the lamp will gradually decrease over time. The UV intensity should be checked regularly, and the lamp should be replaced promptly if it falls below the required intensity. According to relevant standards, the average operating time of a 222nm excimer lamp from commissioning to failure should be no less than 3000 hours, and the UV radiant flux during its service life should be no less than 70% of the nominal value.
